U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs operates 131 National Cemeteries in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Burial and memorial benefits are available for eligible service members, Veterans and family members.

One of the most important documents that will be necessary to move forward in any Veteran associated benefits will be Form DD214 or Military Service Record. If don't have a copy, we strongly suggest to start the request process now, you can obtain a copy of the Veteran's DD214 by contacting the National Archives They are the official repository for records of military personnel who have been discharged from the U.S. Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, Navy and Coast Guard.

Once you have your DD214, you start applying and getting approval for whichever burial or memorial benefits that you would like to utilize as part of the veteran's funeral or memorial services at time of death.
