FOR YOUR INFORMATION
On April 30, 1984, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) introduced the Funeral Rule. The rule requires that funeral providers itemize their goods and services on a general price list. This gives consumers the ability to choose only those goods and services they desire, and pay only for the items they select. It is mandatory that consumers be provided with a general price list for their information. The Funeral Rule was amended in 1994 and now includes the following disclosures:
* General Price List
* Casket Price List
* Outer Burial Container List
* Statement of Funeral Goods and Services
* Choice of Goods and Services
* Basic Services Provided by Funeral Director and Staff
(non-declinable Services)
* Embalming Requirements and Cost
* Alternative Containers for Cremation Purposes
This price list has been designed to comply with the Federal Trade Commission's Trade Regulation Rule; Funeral Industry Practices 16 CFR Part 453. Our fees are established in consultation with a professional accounting firm, exclusively serving funeral homes. If you have any questions or would like additional information regarding the Funeral Rule, we would be pleased to assist you. You may also contact the FTC directly at:
